Currently, the BIBO Awards is a division under our parent 501 (c) (3) organization, The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project (www.champcommunityproject.org). A portion of ALL ticket sales will benefit the mission of the C.H.A.M.P. Community Project, which is to provide ‘mental and emotional supplemental education’ to teens and single parent households (a vast majority of these households are headed by a single mother).

In late 2015/early 2016, BIBO will ‘branch off’ to form its own 501 (c) (3) entity.

Q?

What is the process to select an honoree?

A.

All nominees are carefully reviewed and considered by our BIBO Awards team. In a given city for a given year, we honor 10-12 ladies. These 10-12 ladies include our BIBO starlet awardees (One per city; young women ages 13-23) and our BIBO Legacy awardee (one per city; women over the age of 65 who have demonstrated a life- long commitment to excellence and to helping others).

Once selected, the nominee will receive an email informing them of their nomination and asking for a formal (email) acceptance of the nomination. Once their acceptance has been received, then a formal BIBO Awards letter is emailed to the nominee with more detailed information about the event, venue, and a reiteration of why they were chosen to receive the Reflection Award trophy.

Q?

Do nominees have to live in the cities where the awards ceremonies are being held?

A.

No. While the actual award ceremonies are in designated cities for a given year, nominees that do not reside in those cities are also considered.  We cannot, however, guarantee hotel and travel accommodations for selected nominees who reside outside to the cities of the award ceremonies

Q?

What are the requirements for a nominee?

A.

The Reflection Award trophy, presented to awardees in person at the BIBO Awards ceremonies, are given to women who have shown excellence and demonstrated efforts to “give back” to others in categories such as: entrepreneurship, community service, athletics, politics, education, military, green movement, media, and other categories as well. The BIBO Awards selection committee looks at each nomination taking into consideration the above.

BIBO starlets: This category is reserved to give special recognition to young women ages 13-23 that are already demonstrating leadership and/or strong affinity for others in their communities

BIBO Legacy awardees: This category is reserved to give special recognition to mature women, over the age of 65, who have achieved great success in the careers AND have also contributed, over their lifetime, much to their communities.

Q?

How do I nominate someone to receive an award?

A.

The nomination process begins with submitting an entry via this website. Just click on the Nomination Button on the homepage. From there, you can enter in the required information on the nomination form window that appears. Once you click send/submit, the information will be sent directly to us for consideration.

Q?

What are the BIBO Awards?

A.

The BIBO Awards (BIBO is an acronym that stands for “Beauty In / Beauty Out”) are award ceremonies that celebrate the works and accomplishments of women from ALL walks of life and from varying backgrounds. It ‘levels’ the playing field by simultaneously honoring the community and entrepreneurial milestones of celebrities, politicians, as well as the successes of more “everyday” women on the same stage. The goal of the BIBO Awards is to celebrate and honor “real role models” and better define a more realistic view of “real beauty” for other young women to look up to and emulate.

Each awardee will receive the Reflection Award trophy on stage, at the BIBO award ceremony.
